Expanding My Creativity: How I Took the Leap to Design More than Just Clothes

For a long time, I’ve been deeply passionate about designing unique patterns, and my clothing line has been the primary canvas for that creativity. My love for creating wearable art, especially through Pichispink, has always been a way for me to express myself, but recently, I’ve realized there’s so much more potential to explore.

The opportunity to expand into other items, like mobile phone covers, shoes, and accessories, has been available to me for quite some time. I was lucky enough to work with a provider who offers a wide range of blank products, from clothing to lifestyle items. Yet, for a while, I stuck to just clothing. I worried about confusing my audience, about stretching my brand beyond what people expected. After all, Pichispink started with a clear focus on unique, sustainable clothing, so why shift away from that?

But after some time, I started thinking: why was I limiting myself? Creativity has no boundaries, and I was holding back from expressing it fully. I had been preventing myself from exploring how my designs could translate to other items, items that people use every day, beyond clothing. I realized that expanding my collection wasn’t about losing focus—it was about giving people more opportunities to experience my work in different ways.

The first item I tested this theory on was a phone cover. I wasn’t planning to sell it at first. I designed it just for myself. Why a phone cover? Well, after years of my daughters accidentally breaking my phones when they were toddlers, I figured it was time for something personal and strong—something that represented me. I went bold with the design, choosing one of my most eye-catching patterns, and I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out.

I knew the pattern was unique, but I never expected the kind of reaction it would get. Everywhere I went, people noticed my phone cover. Friends and even strangers would ask about it, commenting on how vibrant and fun it was. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, which made me rethink my earlier hesitations. If people loved this one small item so much, why couldn’t I offer them the chance to own it, too?

That’s when it clicked for me—why not create a mobile phone cover collection with my designs? I knew that just like clothing, phone covers could be a way for people to carry a piece of my creative vision with them. It was a way for me to share my patterns with the world in a new, exciting format.

A few friends also encouraged me, telling me how much they loved the idea and pushing me to take the next step. Their positivity was the final push I needed. So, I made the decision: my pattern designs wouldn’t just stay on clothing anymore. They’d be on phone covers, too, giving people a new way to express themselves and carry around something unique.

This process taught me that creativity doesn’t have to stay in one lane. It’s about finding new ways to let it flow. The phone cover collection represents more than just an accessory line—it’s a new chapter in my journey as a designer. It’s a reminder that there’s no limit to where my patterns can go, or how they can touch people’s lives.

I’m so excited to share this with all of you. Each design reflects a part of me—my personality, my boldness, my love for art. I believe these phone covers will do more than just protect your phone. They’ll make a statement. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, and who knows? Maybe this is just the beginning of something even bigger.

Thank you for all the love and support along the way. I can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes us!
